This 7oz cotton canvas surface is made for use with oil, acrylic, and alkyd paints. It has a medium tooth and medium wave, making it quite versatile for post artistic techniques and styles. Masterpiece's premium quality canvas is made using 100% single-fill cotton duck canvas, stretched on wood from the Pacific Northwest, and assembled in their own facility in North America under NAFTA.
The keyable stretcher bars are precision machined using solid kiln-dried wood. Masterpiece does not use finger joints, which are many small pieces of wood glued together, and that have a tendency to fail under pressure and over time which is not suitable for a fine artist canvas designed to support works of art for centuries.
This canvas is mounted to the frame using Masterpiece's proprietary MasterWrap stretching method, which provides balanced tension across the surface that is up to 50% greater than other methods. The corners are also neatly wrapped and tailor-cut, yielding a bump-free edge upon which to paint.
