UtopiaSmooth canvases features durable triple-primed poly/cotton acid-free acrylic gesso for detailed works. Medium-weight, stable construction resists distortion. Works across various media, ensuring vibrant, lasting artwork. Universal archival primer for oils, water miscible oils, acrylics, alkyds and markers.
The keyable stretcher bars are precision machined using solid kiln-dried wood. Masterpiece does not use finger joints, which are many small pieces of wood glued together, and that have a tendency to fail under pressure and over time which is not suitable for a fine artist canvas designed to support works of art for centuries.
This canvas is mounted to the frame using Masterpiece's proprietary MasterWrap stretching method, which provides balanced tension across the surface that is up to 50% greater than other methods. The corners are also neatly wrapped and tailor-cut, yielding a bump-free edge upon which to paint.
