Interested in making an exposed spine journal that lies flat when opened? Learn how to make one softcover 96-page journal and one hard- cover 96-page journal with a combined French link and butterfly stitch binding! Prior book- binding experience is helpful, but not required.

This is a 5 hour class and will break for a lunch mid-day.

Materials Required: Two sheets of decorative paper at least 12"x24", not too thin, which can be found at Art Supply Warehouse. Decorative Paper

Materials Provided: Bone folder, Teflon folder, rulers, L-square, craft knife, cutting mat, scissors, awl, punching cradle, pencil, white gel pen, eraser, rubber cement pick-up, weight, corner miter tool, thimbles, bees wax, needles, needle threaders, metal border gauge, tweezers, needle nose pliers, Unsewn pre-folded/trimmed 60 lb. text weight signatures, cardstock, waxed thread, parchment paper, glue stick, bookbinding board, bandages

You have a choice of lined or blank paper for your two journals. If you want lined paper instead of blank paper, please email catalyst@artsupplywarehouse with your preference (lined paper for both journals OR lined paper for one journal) by October 20th. If you do not email a preference for lined paper, you will receive blank pages.

Please note this in person class is limited to 10 students. Students must be over 18 to attend this class.
