Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour Cobalt Blue Deep is a darker, semi-transparent red shade of Cobalt Blue. It is extremely permanent with excellent lightfastness and granulation capabilities. It was discovered in 1802 by French chemist Louis Thenard as an alternative pigment to the expensive lapis lazuli pigment.
