Masterpiece Tahoe Cotton Canvas strikes a nice balance between medium- and heavy-weight canvas. It's easy on brushes and works well with aggressive painting techniques, including impasto. Heavy 10 oz, 100% cotton canvas is sized and triple-primed with archival-quality acrylic gesso for a finished weight of 14.6 oz. Its surface texture is smoother and more supple than other heavyweight canvas. The acid-free, pH-balanced canvas works well with oil and acrylic paints. The impenetrable primed surface protects the canvas by preventing oil paints from leaching through, which can be caustic to the fabric. Tahoe Cotton Canvas features the Masterpiece 3D profile - a 2.5" profile with a 1/2 " relief between the bar face and canvas back to prevent lines and indentation. Canvas is stretched using Masterpiece's exclusive MuseumWrap method, which yields a balanced tension up to 50% tighter than other methods. Uncut, neatly folded corners allow the canvas to be re-stretched if desired. Clean, paintable, staple-free edges are perfect for frameless display.
