Learn to use mixed media techniques to create dynamic abstract watercolor paintings! In this fun workshop, leader Anne Kupillas will demonstrate and lead students through creating two of their own scraped abstracts. A landscape with trees and a whimsical seascape.
Required Materials:
-2 pieces of Arches Medium Grain / cold pressed paper, cut to ~6"x8". (Or equivalent good quality paper with some tooth)
- a hard item for scraping, such as a scrap piece of mat board or an old credit card, plastic spoon , knife or fork
-2-3 tube watercolor paints in bold granulating colors like Ultramarine Blue, Sepia, Indigo, Sap Green etc No pan paints : pans will not work well for this approach.
- a medium fluffy brush, such as a filbert or mop, that holds a good amount of water
- a waterproof fine liner pen
- optional: table or epsom salt for texturizing (Anne will demonstrate how to create effects with salt)
Please note this in person class is limited to 20 students, students 18 and under need to be accompanied by an adult.
