Want to paint loose and expressively? Anne will lead you through different techniques for painting loosely, including painting wet-on-wet, painting in damp stages, softening edges and more as you paint an ethereal jellyfish underwater. There will be time for play and practice, as well as hands-on help and questions.
Required Materials: Artist-quality Watercolor Paint in tubes, PANS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED. (Daniel Smith, QOR, Sennelier, Winsor Newton, or M. Graham recommended) in the following colors: Cadmium Red Light, Hansa Yellow or Lemon Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue or Prussian Blue, Turquoise or Cobalt Turquoise. Brushes: Large Quill Brush such as the Royal NocturnaPro Synthetic Squirrel Watercolor Brush Quill #8, OR Isabey Pure Squirrel Quill Brush #4, Princeton Aqua Elite series Pointed Round brush (size 6 or 8) for details; 2 pieces of 8"x10" good quality 100% cotton watercolor paper -- Arches is Recommended. Other acceptable options: Hannemuehle or Strathmore Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper (sheet or block). Paper made from wood pulp or hot pressed papers are NOT recommended for this class. A graphite pencil (HB, 2B, or 4B are good).
Other colors that you may have or want to try: Leaf Green, Phthalo Green, Sap Green
Materials Provided: water/cup, paper towel, masking tape, board for support
Please note this in person class is limited to 18 students, students 18 and under need to be accompanied by an adult.
