Are you ready to start oil painting? Are you bewildered by all the art terms and choices of materials? During this class paint two still life paintings from observation while learning tips and techniques for painting with oils. Covering value, the first painting will focus on basic shapes and capturing light and shadow. The second still life will focus on utilizing a limited color palette to capture a more complicated still life. This is a beginner friendly class and a great refresher for intermediate students as well.
This is a 6 hour class and will break for a lunch mid-day.
All Materials Provided: 9x12 Canvas Panels, 8x10 Canvas Panels, Oil Paint (Titanium White, Ivory Black, Raw Umber, Yellow Ochre & Venetian Red), Da Vinci Bristle Brushes (Flat 1/2" & Filbert 1/4"), Palette, Solvent-Free Gel, Charcoal, Newsprint, Kneaded Eraser, Paper Towels, Gamsol & Gloves
If you are interested in purchasing the materials used in the class, a kit is available here that includes the paint and materials used in the class to use at home.
Please note this in person class is limited to 14 students. Students under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.
