Exapnding on part 1, part 2 will cover pigment basics (permanence, transparency), mixing colors, color theory, mingling exercises, washes and glazes, masking, and other ways to preserve the white of the paper, wet on wet tips, textural effects, such as spattering and dry brush. We will also cover materials, understanding your paints, advanced paper & sketch books, when your paper warps or buckles. PLUS 5 common errors and how to fix them- blending streaks, picking up beads, damp blot, lifting out, spots, streaks, edges, magic eraser! Plus how to color correct by glazing. There will be time for play and practice.

Recommended Materials: Watercolor tube paint set, (pan's are not recommended), medium flat wash brush, medium round brush (pointed is preferable) OR pointed filbert (Princeton's Aqua Elite series is a nice option), 6 pieces of 8x10" Cold Press, 140lb watercolor paper (Canson XL, Arches, Strathmore, etc), graphite pencil (HB, 2B, or 4B are good), permanent ink fineliner in black (Micron or Etchr Lab), Masking Fluid (Daniel Smith is good), 9x12" or 11x14" board to tape down your paper. (materials are not provided)
