Interested in learning more about your watercolor pigments, and how to mix colors to get the best results? Instructor Anne Kupillas will guide you through exploring your pigments, explain how to mix vibrant, clean hues, tone down colors, create beautiful grays, how to avoid making mud, the difference between bias and temperature, and more! Anne will also touch on how to use color in your paintings to maximum effect, employing different color schemes, using a limited palette (more is not always better!) and how color is the key to emotion in your paintings. This is a fun workshop that is suitable for all levels, including beginners.
Recommended Materials: Tube or pan watercolors, student or artist grade, (please no Michaels/Artist's Loft paints, these have too much chalk in them) in the following six (6) colors: Cadmium of Cad-Free Red, Cadmium or Cad-Free Yellow or Hansa Yellow, Cobalt Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Lemon Yellow. 4-5 sheets of 140lb CP watercolor paper ~5"x7" (Canson, Strathmore, Arches, etc), medium size brush (3/4" or 1/2" oval wash), Color Wheel by the Color Wheel Company 9 1/4".
