Museum Series Hardbord is an ultra-smooth, non-absorbent uncoated panel. Ampersand's premium, warp-resistant, FSC-certified 1/8" Hardbord is the most stable substrate on the market and supports your artwork to prevent damage from warping, bowing, or movement.
Ultra-smooth Hardbord is a great surface for mixed media, collage, plein air, metal leaf, heavy paint applications, and is also a perfect support to mount watercolor papers, photos, fabrics, prints, and more.
Only Ampersand's Hardbord is made without formaldehyde or harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds) unlike other hardboards and MDF boards. Hardbord can be used with a variety of media. It is strongly recommended to seal and prime all unprimed panels before use.
