The mould-made Hahnemuehle watercolor board 300 gsm is natural white, acid free, lightfast and extremely resistant to aging. This 9.4" x 12.6", 140lb Cold Press block features 10 sheets of paper that are suitable for all watercolor techniques, especially wet-on-wet painting, for creating effects with crisp and hard-edged colors, smooth washes and dry brush technique. Hahnemuehle 300 is also ideal for painting techniques such as lavis, gouache, tempera and acrylic. Adhered on one side with a glue binding, the watercolor paper is stretched to avoid buckling. This watercolor paper can be removed from with a knife once it is finished.
The watercolor paper made by Hahnemuehle is a real vat paper, produced on a cylinder mould machine, which gives it the characteristic deckle edge. The use of various types of natural felt gives this paper a unique surface structure. The papers allow for optimum color reproduction, have a resistant surface and withstand repeated erasures. These features make them suitable not only for watercolors, but also for other wet-painting techniques, such as gouache, tempera, opaque colors and lavis; as well as for drawing with charcoal, pencil and crayons.
