New to gel printing or ready to build a stronger foundation? This class is the perfect place to begin! Discover the joy of gel plate printing in this hands-on workshop designed for beginners and curious creatives. You'll learn the essential techniques that make gel printing both fun and rewarding while gaining the confidence to experiment on your own. Together we'll explore how paint behaves on the gel plate, create texture using everyday tools and stencils, understand transparent and opaque paint, and discover how changing just one variable can completely transform a print. Instead of simply following step-by-step instructions, you'll begin thinking like an artist and an experimenter-observing, testing, and discovering what works best for you.
By the end of class you'll have a collection of colorful prints that can be used for art journals, greeting cards, collage, mixed media artwork, and future creative projects.
No previous experience is necessary.
Materials Provided: Acrylic paint, gelli plate, paper, brayer (roller), texture plate/stencils
Please note this in person class is limited to 15 students. Students under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.
