Fredrix Watercolor Canvas is an authentic 100% woven cotton artist canvas with a special coating that performs similar to a cold press or rough watercolor paper, yet it provides a distinctive look that can only be achieved on canvas. Fredrix Watercolor Canvas will accept all water-media and mixed media techniques. Ideal for transparent and opaque watercolors, acrylic & watercolor inks, fluid acrylics, & watercolor pencils. Fredrix Watercolor Canvas works quite well with acrylic paints in different viscosities. Scratching and scraping techniques can be done with confidence without tearing. Fredrix Watercolor Canvas is excellent for painting outdoors (plein air) and can easily attach to your easel.
Ten minutes before you paint, wipe down (firmly) the entire surface of the canvas with a very wet cloth. This will allow for more spontaneous transfer of the paint to the canvas.
Tip: Staple/adhere loose piece of canvas to hardboard such as Gator board, foam core or plywood before painting to keep them from buckling.
