Develop your virtuosity in oil painting by diving into the pragmatic and fundamental concepts of how color works when mixing pigments. Using a "teaching palette" of the basic primaries, the class will have a hands- on demonstration of how to think through color mixing decisions, comparing high chroma.and low chroma palettes Learn color definitions and terms, considerations on choosing pigments for your palette, and put it into practice right away as we paint a still life from observation.
Materials Provided: Two canvases, brushes, Oil Paint: White, Ivory Black, Cadmium Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Red, Venetian Red, Raw Umber, French Ultramarine.
Please note this in person class is limited to 14 students. Students under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.
