During this in person class learn to draw a two-tone charcoal portrait from a live model on grey toned paper with step by step instruction from artist Andrew Cortez. During this class learn to simplify the complexity of portraiture while providing the illusion of realism while drawing from a model. Learn techniques to render and blend with a bristle brush for a smoky effect, plus learn about the underlying facial structure to draw a likeness, as well as proportion and more.
Materials Required:
Willow Charcoal, 4B and HB Charcoal Pencil, White Pastel Pencil (Stabilo CarbOthello), Blending Stump & Kneaded Eraser
Materials Provided:
Grey Toned Paper (11"x14"), Bristle Brush
