The Claybord Box Kit is completely customizable and perfect for home decor or for creating an artful gift. The surface of the box lid is coated with Ampersand's signature ultra-smooth, absorbent Claybord, and the sides are handcrafted with premium-grade, 13-ply birch plywood. Boxes are 3" (76 mm) tall, measured on the outside. Hinges are packed inside for attachment later.
Claybord is perfect for creating with mixed media, inks, acrylic, cold wax, graphite, collage, airbrush, gouache, egg tempera, scratchboard, mounting, and more. Unique clay ground allows artists to etch into the surface to add contrast, texture, and details. You can even erase with oil-free steel wool or very fine sandpaper.
