SAI pens are easy to paint with and use genuine brush hair. The colors they use are those you see in traditional Japanese art. Each pen is carefully hand made by a craftsperson. The watercolor inks in each pen is easy to work with, apply easily, and look beautiful on paper. The brushes used in SAI pens are responsive to touch; you can paint with them as boldly or as delicately as you like. Try dampening the paper and wetting the brush tip before you start to achieve a lovely soft, nebulous look with your painting.

Caution: Cap tightly when note in use. If ink stops flowing properly, hang the pen brush-down for about two minutes. If the brush dries out, rinse it in water, soak up the excess water, cap tightly and leave it hanging nib-down for 2 or 3 days.
